LOVERS Film Festival – Torino LGBTQI Visions is organized by Museo Nazionale del Cinema di Torino, the national cinema museum of Turin. It is financed principally by the City of Torino council, by the government of the Piedmont region and by the Department for Cinema in the Ministry for Culture and Cultural Heritage. The festival is also supported by other organizations, bodies and private sponsors.
FESTIVAL SECTIONS The programme of the Festival will include four competition sections:
‐ International Competition for FEATURE FILMS, All the Lovers Open to fiction films of any kind
‐ International Competition for DOCUMENTARIES, Real Lovers Open to documentaries of any kind
‐ International Competition ICONOCLASTA , Irregular Lovers Open to films of any kind or format, particularly innovative films
‐ International Competition for SHORT FILMS, Future Lovers Open to fiction films of any kind of any kind.
Special Events This section includes internationally acclaimed films for a wide audience.
AWARDS INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR FEATURE FILMS The Directors of the Festival will appoint an International Jury to award the following prizes:
‐ Best Feature Film: “Ottavio Mai” Prize – money prize of 1,000 Euros for winner
‐ Special Mention from the Jury (awarded at the discretion of the Jury).
INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR DOCUMENTARIES The Directors of the Festival will appoint an International Jury to award the following prizes:
‐ Best Documentary: money prize of 500 Euros for director of winning film
‐ Offer of distribution of film in Italy, in partnership with UCCA ‐ Unione Circoli Cinematografici ARCI (pending agreement between the parties involved).
INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION ICONOCLASTA AWARD, in partnership con Artissima, the Directors of the Festival will appoint an International Jury to award the following prizes:
‐ International Artist’s Residency
‐ Screening at the next November fair and at the Centre d’Art Contemporain in Geneva.
INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM The Directors of the Festival will appoint an International Jury to award the following prizes: -
‐ Best Short Film: “Fotogrammi Sovversivi” Prize – money prize of 300 Euros for director of winning film, sponsored by Sicurezza e Lavoro
‐ Special Mention in partnership with Divine Queer Festival.
PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD In collaboration with MyMovies.it, this prize covers the competition sections International Feature Films, International Documentaries, Iconoclasta: a dedicated production by the visual artist Giulia Caria.
