The Fabriano Film Fest is an event addressed to filmmakers, and in particular to those authors who have tried their hand at making a short film. Our mission is to enhance the value of this particular form of artistic and cinematographic expression, and at the same time to foster its promotion among the public.
The event will be held in the premises of the Complesso monumentale San Benedetto in the town of Fabriano.
Short films must have a maximum running time of 15 mins. The selection of the winning short movie will be determined 50% by the journalist jury (four among local and national newspapers), and 50% by the artistic jury, made up of four cinema professionals with different kinds of expertise (directors, actors, casting directors etc.)
The jury president's vote will count twice.
The prize for the best short movie will consist of 1.000 euro cash, while other awards will be granted to:
Best director;
Best actress;
Best actor;
Best cinematography;
Best screenplay;
Special award "Claudio Casadio Tarabusi" Eyes on the world; Audience award.
Other than mere competition, the Fabriano Film Fest stands as an occasion to share experiences, in fact, in addition to the screenings, informal encounters with the filmmakers, or the actors, or whoever represents the short film taking part in the contest, will be scheduled; they will tell us about their experience, their dreams, or simply about their own lives, exchanging views with other professionals about the obstacles they met during the production of the short film.
Also, a well known director will be invited to an annual appointment, open to everyone, whether filmmakers or not, in order to talk about his experience, about film directing, about difficulties possibly encountered at the beginning of his career, and finally answering the facilitator's, but also the audience's questions.
