A Milanese speaking child is born in a family of real genuine Neapolitans, or better of Neapolitan integralists, obsessed with tradition and with the fact of being Neapolitan. This is the exhilarating drama of Incantesimo Napoletano. Just imagine the great efforts her parents must make in order to cure Assuntina from this dangerous deviance, imagine her father's anguish when the child spits out the legendary 'pastiera' from the legendary pastry shop Scaturchio and imagine what may happen when the little girl grows into a woman and discovers love. The story becomes more and more complex, overturning and desecrating all the clichés on being Neapolitan, depicting a witty fresco on diversity with a universal taste to it.
Notice to all gourmets: the pastries 'sfogliatelle' and 'pastiere' used on the set have been treated with the maximum respect, just one take and then devoured. As one says, first take, good, second, third, fourth, in short, all good.
