His few possessions are pawned with a local usurer, that he does not hesitate to kill in the name of his principals. Along with her sister who returns home unexpectedly.
Mariotti, an alcoholic anarchist unable to support his family is accused of the crime.
He will die in an accident in an attempt to avoid arrest.
Raul's guilt begins to increase with Mariotti's death and his growing love for Sonia, Mariotti's daughter.
His search for redemption develops through an intellectual duel with a judge called porfirio who is working on the case.
Porfirio's intuitive mind understands the truth at once and decides to challange him intellectually.
In the end his love for Sonia will prevail and bring him to confess and pay his dues to justice and to his conscience.
