Marco, a young ruthless lawyer, lives together with Martina, a South American girl, and their five years old son, Mateo. They live in Civitavecchia, a town near Rome, on the coast. Following to irreparable conflicts with her man and feeling persecuted by the Italian law, Martina decides to run away. She manages to return to her home country and takes Mateo with her: she puts off her scent. Marco is in despair: he cannot live without his child.After he’s undergone several failures in the attempt to finding them, he decides to fly to South America. He finds out where Martina lives, but just when he thinks he’s finally close to hug his child again, local law holds him back.His life is completely turned upside-down.After a journey in his deep self, Marco decides to stay in the country, as that’s the only way not to lose his son.He starts to work as immigrant, in an Italian restaurant, just as many fellow countrymen did back in the fifties and are now starting to do again due to the economic crisis.
