The ‘Latina Film Commission’ (LFC) Foundation is a non-profit organisation that was created by the Provincial Administration. It is the body in charge of planning and achieving a local system for cinema and TV, with a mission to enrich and encourage balance, sharing, communication and identity of it's Province. Last but not least, the LFC operates in a marvellous setting that is rich in natural, artistic, geographic and architectural resources of outstanding significance.
This Foundation supports the request of information and directions to the national and international bodies willing to invest in the (cinematographic/audiovisual) production in Latina. At the same time, the LFC promotes cultural, economic and employment development in the area concerned.
Latina stands out for its outstanding variety of sceneries that have already become the settings of several recent films. Latterly, Alessandro Gassman, created his first film as director in Latina thanks to the LFC’s work and organization. This gave strength to the evocative power of the classical and modern architecture.
The remarkable variety of scenery offered by the lush nature in the area allows the successful representation of assorted cinematographic genres: from comedies to historical movies and horror movies to dramas.
The marvellous costal dunes of Sabaudia, the Medieval alleys of Sermoneta, the large countryside of the Agro Pontino, the green valley of the Lepini Hills and the neoclassical architecture of Latina are only a few examples of the great variety of sceneries. These wonderlands have been admired and loved by foreign directors such as: François Girard, Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Nathan Juran, Joe D’Amato, Wes Anderson, Hal Roach, Charles Rogers, Guy Hamilton, John Huston, Paul Weiland and in addition to famous Italian directors such as: Paolo Sorrentino, Daniele Luchetti, Nanni Moretti, Carlo Verdone, Ferzan Ozpetek, Sergio Castellitto, Michele Placido, Roberto Benigni, Massimo Troisi, Nino Manfredi, Federico Fellini, Luchino Visconti, Vittorio De Sica, Giuseppe De Santis, Alberto Sordi, Mario Bava, Alessandro Blasetti.
