The Festival aims to be a gathering for presenting and promoting films and videos of all nationalities and genres dealing with the themes of integration between people, families, and populations of different cultural backgrounds and national origins.
The Festival pays special attention to emerging cinematography, young filmmakers and independent authors.
The types of films that can be entered:
those that document positive aspects and events of a reality that is changing, becoming increasingly multicultural, multilingual and multi-religious, as well as initiatives aimed at increasing awareness of good practices related to it in this sense;
those that portray experiences of coexistence that are possible because of openness toward dialogue, to exchanging ideas, and not fearful when dealing with conflict;
ones that represent effective ways of inclusion, socialisation and intercultural interaction.
The programme of the “C’è un tempo per… l’integrazione” Festival is divided into the following sections:
International contest
Competition for documentaries with a maximum length of 52 minutes.
Competition for works of fiction of all genres with a maximum length of 20 minutes.
Works admitted to the International Contest will be judged by a specially appointed Jury which will award the following Prizes:
For documentary films: first Prize of 1000 euros (before taxes) for the best documentary which, possessing high artistic qualities corresponds absolutely to the cultural and popular objectives which inspire the Festival.
For short films of fiction: first Prize of 1000 euros (before taxes) for the best work that portrays integration according to the Festival’s objectives. b) Special mention.
Works admitted to the contest in the School (Scuola) section will be judged by a specially appointed Jury which will award a Prize of 500 euros (before taxes) to the best short film of fiction which corresponds absolutely to the cultural objectives which inspire the Festival.
Works admitted to the contest in the Italy (Territorio) section will be judged by a specially appointed Jury which will award the “Sarnico” Prize thus entitled in memory of Saad Zaghloul, consisting of an educational package of 12 hours regarding the intercultural approach inspired by the theories and methods of Margalit Choen-Emerique carried out by the Ruah Cooperative. Saad Zaghloul was a young man of Moroccan origin, one of the first in the lower Lake Iseo area to collaborate actively to promote the processes of integration. All works admitted to the official selection of the Festival may also participate in any special awards offered by Associations or Organisations that are Festival partners, awarded by Juries that are independent from the official one. The prizes corresponding to these acknowledgements are to be decided and given by the promoters and may be given to the same works that have won the official prizes.
