Piccolo Grande Cinema is the event founded in 2008 which aims to bring and share the best Italian and international cinema with young audiences and promote creativity and curiosity around the seventh art. The 2023 edition saw the proposal of around 50 titles which were presented at the Cineteca Milano Arlecchino and at the Cineteca Milano MIC.
The festival is divided into four competitive sections: international competition, schools competition, short film competition and a review of archive films. The juries are made up of around 250 young people, divided between high school students and students from Milanese film schools and university courses. The Piccolo Grande Cinema program also includes Italian and family previews organized together with the most important distribution houses. During the festival, training sessions are also held with workshops and seminars, special guided visits to the MIC-Interactive Museum of Cinema, Open Days for schools and cinema courses.
