The Sicani Cinema Experience is an event dedicated to promoting and enhancing cinema as an art form. The initiative aims to encourage interaction and networking between audiences, directors, distributors, and professionals in the film industry. The Sicani Cinema Experience consists of:
● outdoor film screenings with the participation of prominent guests who present their films with discussion sessions and opportunities for interaction;
● talks, seminars, and film workshops dedicated to exploring issues related to the sector;
● Sicani Short – International Short Film Festival: the main competition reserved for professionally produced and distributed short films characterized by classic and auteur storytelling;
● Sicani Off: this parallel section is reserved for short films characterized by experimental narrative and self-produced or independently distributed.
The event will take place in the Sicano District, with particular reference to the municipalities of Cammarata and San Giovanni Gemini (Agrigento).
There are two types of awards:
• Jury Award: awarded by a technical jury. The winner will receive a trophy and a cash prize of €300.
• Audience Award: awarded by a jury selected by popular vote. The winner will receive a trophy and a cash prize of €200.
In addition to the above, the juries will have the right to agree on the awarding of special mentions to selected films, highlighting distinctive aspects such as the artistic and technical cast, the narrative quality, and the overall development of the work.
