The Ecomuseo of the Soapstone and the Stonemasons, the Malesco municipality, the Val Grande National Park Institution and the Association "Cercando il Cinema" with the aegis of the Piedmont Region, the VCO Province organise the Malescorto, the International Shorts Festival.
The competition is open to the video-makers from the entire world. The jury will be composed of exponents of the local culture and professionals of the television.
Awards
First Prize:
• Prize "MALESCORTO" (€1000.-), awarded to the director of the best short film.
Special Awards
• Prize "MALESCHOOLS" (€300), awarded to the school and to the production for the best short film made by schools.
• PRIZE "CINEMA AND ECOLOGY" (€300), awarded to the Director of the best
short film inspired by ecological issues. This award, created in collaboration with the National Park of Val Grande, will reward the short films depicting the relationship between man and nature from an ecological perspective, the link between natural and cultural capital, the relationship between man and pristine nature. There is no restriction on geographical area.
• Prize "BROADCASTARCHITECTURE" (€400), awarded to the production
company of the short film set in the best indoor or outdoor location. This award is offered by the Ordine degli Architetti delle Province di Novara e VCO.
• Prizes "VOLUNTEERING AND SOLIDARITY" (special section with the following
prizes: €300.-first prize, €200.- second prize, €100.- third prize), awarded to the best short film inspired by the theme "volunteering and solidarity." Prizes will not be awarded cash, but in services from CST - Service Center for Novara and VCO - quantified on the basis of the cash value of the prize itself and will be assigned exclusively to voluntary associations of Novara and VCO, and credited to CST; entries can be submitted both by voluntary associations - as producers - and by individuals involved in the production who will have to allocate the prize to an associations of their choice that meets the above requirements. These prizes will be assigned to voluntary associations only.
