The Icaro International Film Festival has been a key element in the creation of a Central American audiovisual movement, where the cultural integration of the region becomes a reality.
Its execution is through the International Network of Icaro Film Festivals with representation in each Central American country from Guatemala to Panama; in Cuba and Puerto Rico in the Caribbean; in New York and Los Angeles in United States; Bogota and Buenos Aires in South America and in Barcelona, ​​Spain. Between July and October, ICARO National Film Festivals and Icaro Film samples take place in each country, in preparation for the International Film Festival that takes place on the full moon of November, in Guatemala.
Can participate only projects made during the last year, in Central American and foreign countries in the categories of FEATURE FILM AND SHORT FILM in:
FICTION
DOCUMENTARY
ANIMATION
EXPERIMENTAL
In addition to the statue that recognizes the best work in each category, technical-artistic recognition is given to Central Americans films.
