1987, the final act of the largest criminal trial in history: the Maxi Trial of Palermo. Eight jurors, four women and four men, locked inside a deliberation room for 36 days, tasked with convicting or acquitting 470 defendants. Eight people, forced to live together in a small apartment in Ucciardone Prison. All communication with the outside world is cut off: no televisions, telephones or radios. They find themselves imprisoned.

The film recounts the longest Deliberation in history. Eight people, four women and four men, locked inside an apartment for 36 days. The deliberation stage of the Maxi Trial of Palermo in the late 1980s. It is an atypical and unforgettable sort of confinement, filled with work and enormous responsibility; however, that strange experience also becomes a special time for each of them. Because, despite everything, their irony, enthusiasm, ability to laugh and to poke fun at one another remain intact... This is not a film about the Mafia, it is a film about what happens to eight people in such an extreme situation. Extreme in terms of the setting, the scale of work and the constraints they are subjected to.
