The craft (first feature)

Sauro Cantafame “fixes” the dead on commission, by installing mechanical beating hearts into their bodies. He helps families survive by scamming the social welfare system. With his Apecar he drives, alone, through a lunar South, a borderland between reality and fantasy. After an unexpected encounter, he takes under his wing a fragile boy under serious threat, whose destiny is in his name: Giocondo Infelice (which translates into Joyful Sad). By doing so, he makes an enemy of Vito ‘a scimmia, a sort of criminal deity that manages and commands all in that forsaken land. Cantafame teaches the boy his strange craft made of death, knowledge and disenchantment; Giocondo overcomes his inner block and finally finds the father he never had. But Cantafame is haunted by ghosts of the past and has a painful karma to complete that will convince him to take on Vito in order to save the boy.
