Michele Moretti lives with his older brother, Niccolò, a mattress salesman. While waiting to find a steady job, he struggles with little jobs. Every once in a while, for a few dollars, he helps his brother and pretends to be a mite to scare clients and convince them to buy a new mattress. At the umpteenth job interview, for a private TV channel specialized in TV sales, Michele gets an idea.
Taking advantage of the same name, he pretends to be Nanni Moretti's brother and thanks to this trick, he is hired. In the meantime, he meets Anna, an enchanting street artist, and plays this role with her too. Anna however, is not very interested in hearing about famous relatives and soon tires of hearing him speak about his little brother, dumping him. Even at the network things start to go badly. The TV sales depress him and he resigns. But his brother, the real one, must move abroad for a certain time and this time he has to find a job that will allow him to live. He will find his future in writing.
