We are at Rebibbia, the women’s jail in Rome, the greatest in Europe. Ursula – a Romani woman who cuts the grass - Berenice – a Brazilian who rears rabbits – and Lucia, a Colombian who studies Italian – live and narrate – by this narrating also their own life – a peculiar experience. The film goes for the essential elements: earth, milk to a lamb, a poem. The background, stolen to the prison grounds, is a cornfield yielding the surprise of the harvest. The prisoners are outside: harvesting corn while singing, even on the wrong side of a barbed wire perimeter fence, becomes a liberating game.
