Irene is on her sixties. Still beautiful and very much in command she is desperately attached to the old family house, a manor that has seen three generations growing up but where none of her family, other than herself, seems very much happy to return to.
Sara, her widowed daughter constantly in fear of some accident to happen to her apparently too wise son. Sara’s sister Rita, with a ‘happy’ family , her estranged husband, her problematic teen ager daughter, and the young Chiara, through whose innocent eyes all the members of the family are constantly under scrutiny. And Irene’s youngest son Claudio, whose homosexuality is a secret to nobody except his mother. Everything seems pretty much routine, except for a runaway dog, and a camera that Chiara receives as a present. A mechanic eye that sees through all family members with an unexpected ruthlessness.
