Four men embark on a never-ending chase throughout a savage land. The leader is the Fanatic, a cold, merciless, calculating and complex character. The second of the three is the Sleuth, a young novice to the Outback. Then there is the Veteran, a man of thoughts rather than actions. But the real leader that the others can’t deny, is the Guide, the mysterious one who of course isn’t really what he seems.
They’re half a day away from reaching the Fugitive, a black man accused of murder. Tension is rising. The white guys think there is a bad black guy hiding behind every tree. Their expedition continues to head towards disaster. The horse carrying supplies is suddenly killed by a spear that came out of nowhere. They accuse the Guide and chain him up for being so disrespectful. The tension continues to rise. Next, an “accident” occurs in which the Guide almost kills the Fanatic. The Fanatic’s horse is injured by a spear. The Sleuth says he’s going to kill the Fanatic when they start haphazardly shooting at some Aborigines.
