Dark fairy tale about the wars and memory, "Awful wars" tells the extraordinary meeting of three unique characters: the Captain, melancholy veteran from World War I, wandering artist, exalted and dreamy, now reduced to tell his stories to the woodland creatures, helped by his young and wacky squire. The two live a weird everyday life until the arrival of a wounded soldier suffering total amnesia. The relationshios are now intense: antipathy between the first and the newcomer, sympathy between the soldier and the squire. The situation becomes increasingly tense between shocking revelations and subsequent twists.
DIRECTORìS NOTES:
The basic idea of our film is the chaos that every man carries inside, his own
personal hell, is projected outside in the world, materializing in discrimination,
violent ideologies that in the end lead to real wars. If every human being will be able
to overcome his inner conflict then even the wars will disappear like snow in the sun.
The real revolution starts from individual not by the multitude.
No war within, no war without.
