Guido Catalano is the greatest professional poet alive, with twenty thousand copies sold, over a hundred live performances a year, and a multitude of fans all over Italy, and especially popular among women. Everybody knows that. But what nobody knows is that Guido Catalano has a secret. And that secret is called Armando: his twin brother and real author of the poems that created the Guido Catalano phenomenon. Armando suffers from Kräftor Syndrome, also known as “reversophonia,” a conversion disorder that makes him speak backwards, rendering his speech unintelligible. Instead of saying “I am Armando Catalano,” he would say “I ma odnamrA onalataC.” So the twins came up with a cunning plan: Armando would write what Guido would then recite. They are so good at their respective jobs that they soon become the greatest professional poet alive. How did they manage to keep the truth hidden for so long? How does their partnership really work? What is their life like off stage? But above all, did they ever trade places when seducing a woman?
