In 1966 Francesco Guccini, one of the most popular italian folksinger, publishes Auschwitz, a song that brought to the attention of young people the horror of the concentration camps during the World War II
becoming a cult song of a generation.
After 50 years for the first time Francesco Guccini goes to Auschwitz together the Bishop of Bologna, his city, Matteo Maria Zuppi and a class of a secondary school.
The film is a multiplicity of points of view through different generations, that look to the barbarism without find any answer. “How could this happen ?”, “Why did it happen ?”
A journey by the train from Milan to Poland. A dramatic visit to the concentration camps of Auschwitz and Birkenau that strenghthen the belief how important is grow the memory and that the past must not happen again.
