The documentary aims to give the right memory of one of the most innovative and experimental Festival of the 80's and 90's. At its peak, we can say that was the third Italian festival in importance after Venice and Pesaro.
Born as "Film Encounters of Monticelli Terme" later it became "Film Encounters of Salsomaggiore" then "Salso Film & TV Festival" and finally "Cinema Art Festival", the festival has seen in the various editions among its protagonists many directors and actors internationally known as Bernardo Bertolucci, Jean-Luc Godard, Samuel Fuller, Jim Jarmusch, Pedro Almodovar, Aki Kaurismaki, Otar Ioseliani, Amos Gitai to name a few of the best known and the most important artists of the seventh art. In addition, many filmmakers, now known to the public as Silvio Soldini, Marco Tullio Giordana, Fiorenza Infascelli, Marco Bechis attended to the Festival. The documentary trough original video footage, original scenes, homages to great directors and protagonists of the festival such as Samuel Fuller and Marco Melani, interviews with major players like Adriano Apra, director of the Festival until 1989, Enrico Ghezzi, Patrizia Pistagnesi, Luciano Recchia, Christa Lang Fuller and Samantha, wants to show the genesis and development of this important film festival, until its end in 1991.
