Just how much more does poor Gianni have to take? A few months away from retiring, he’s moved to an office very far away, which forces him to leave his neighborhood he’s so fond of and revolutionize his whole lifestyle. Between his officemates, a neighbor from hell, and his exwife’s impossible demands, Gianni has his share of aggravation, and then some. Meanwhile, Marco is a gentle soul, without an aggressive bone in his body, in love with Cinzia, his young colleague who walks all over him and strings him along. He’s got to stand up for himself and get angry, but how? On his own it’s tricky, but maybe if he joins forces with someone…And so Gianni embarks on a silent crusade against the world’s evils.
DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT:
I’ve always been one of those people who, to keep the peace or whatever, tends to go along with what others decide, suffer in silence, say yes all the time, can’t say no. I’ve often thought: could I ever change? In this film I tried to understand if it is possible, if one makes an effort, to change this kind of personality and defend oneself, falling in line with today’s standards: asserting yourself, being successful. In working on this story, I suspect I never had an answer in the end, with outright comical results. As in all things, a healthy balance would be the thing. But life is more complicated…
