On September 9th 1943, the day after the Armistice, my great grand parents forced their sons Bruno and Ugo to escape from Rome and try to overstep the Nazis’ lines. Bruno and Ugo packed their backpack and stepped onto the tram. Their parents looked at them from the balcony. It was the last time they saw each other.
My father, my sister and I decided to walk the some route Bruno and Ugo made to escape, but in opposite direction, as a way to sew up the wound. The result of this journey it’s a universal portrait of family with pros and cons.
