The documentary The Thread of Alliance is the story of the creation and realization of a art work by Daniela Papadia, an artist from Palermo. His idea is to involve six communities of women of different ethnic groups, living in Israel and Palestine, to embroider a tapestry representing a map of the Mediterranean, drawn inside by a graphic reconstruction of some blood genes. Blood symbolizes life, it is a link not only of a relational but also a biological nature. We are all similar and different, equal and unique.
The Thread of Alliance is therefore a journey into the lives of israelians, palestinians, druze ancd bedouin women who want to try to mend the tears by embroidering the genes of blood, a metaphor for the blood shed in a land battered by wars between brothers. Exceptional witness is the Israeli writer Abraham Yehoshua.
