Giuseppe, a widower with two adult children, runs a rural area’s bar and gas station. Bikira has just recently disembarked from Africa. Giuseppe hires her as a waitress. The two fall in love, causing a major scandal in town – and, in spite of the conflict with his children, he and Bikira marry.
