A singular story, which sees Fiore as the protagonist, the son of a wealthy family, in a small village in southern Italy.
Set in the last century, but with an ever-current theme.
Fiore's mother had two sisters who in turn had given birth to two daughters. A girl was therefore expected.
They had already chosen the name: Dalia. Instead, a beautiful baby boy was born. They called him Fiore, also because of their passion for flowers.
Unlike other boys of his age, Fiore didn't spend the afternoon on the street playing football or cycling.
His only trips were to buy bread, fruit or newspapers for his father.
One day, in the square, he saw a long line of girls in front of a stall.
They were there to sign up for the dance recital, organized by the Mayor, on the occasion of the patronal feast.
Among many, Fiore was struck by Sophie's beauty. That day his first love was born, along with a series of events that marked his life.

DIRECTOR'S NOTES:
Flower derives from a strong desire to tell the historical visual, passionate and religious realities of one of the smallest, but best preserved over time, villages in Southern Italy.
The story takes place mainly in Salento, in Sternatia and features a series of places and characters who actually existed.
The collection of stories is the result of countless meetings with elderly people in the town, who keep the memories of their childhoods alive, with memories and photographs.
The choice of locations was careful, not simple, it was often necessary to reconstruct them scenographically, which was also the result of careful research lasting several months.
To enrich the historical stories, I have added the life of Fiore, a boy whose destiny, until he becomes an adult, will be solitude.
A life of memories, enriched daily by that special greeting to his friends, to whom he gives a flower every day.
Extremely tiring to organize hundreds of sets without any budget, made worse by the scorching summer heat, also knowing that not everyone was available for the entire production period. Who had to leave at midday, who was only available in the afternoon or who only in the morning. But it was clearly one of the compromises to be faced, which led to a great challenge in organizing the daily "Work Plans".
But the project went ahead, driven by the enormous passion of a united group and aware that the commitment of one is the success of many.
So it was. Also driven by the drive of the fantastic music, Flower slowly composed himself, without major compromises and without sacrificing any story.
A first "community" work, as I like to define it, but which brings back to the theater those flavors of pure, disinterested cinema, and aimed at those who still want the scent of velvet, of the big screen, of cinema that tells the story of Italy and its roots, using simple languages, colors of the past, street languages.
