Mamma Vita Mia is a documentary film about one of the phenomena that has most influenced society over the past 50 years, the art of tattooing.
An introspective journey through the culture of tattoos, in a legendary Naples, which aims to reveal the criminal origins of the phenomenon and the psychosocial direction towards which it is directed.
A vision to the last century of the social / rehabilitative metamorphosis that the tattoo got today. Filmed between Naples and Procida island, the film tells the stories of some of the most ferocious post-war bandits, the dark reasons that pushed Naples has become the city with teh highest rate of humans tattooed in the world, and the same time shows the evolution of the phenomen through the eyes of two teenagers.
Mamma vita mia -title of the film- takes inspiration from the most famous and widespread of all tattoos "M.V.M" Mamma Vita Mia.
