The documentary film “Allah Loves Equality” gives voice to LGBTQIA (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex and asexual) people living in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan through interviews with homosexual and transgender Muslim people and scenes from their everyday lives: everyone will be able to know the situation of sexual minorities’ rights in the country and what are the social attitudes towards them.
For the first time true gay couples have decided to show themselves publicly and to tell their story to the world. Even many transgender people, from those who work as sex workers to those who are fighting HIV in their community, have spoken openly. Moreover, in the realisation of the documentary, Kazmi has touched the risks that fundamentalist rhetoric makes to run to those who live without hiding their sexual identity and for this reason are considered immoral and blasphemous.
