In a sunny district of Naples where everyone knows each other, Mario and Lino, two inseparable friends, live day by day in the monotony of neighborhood life. Until everything changes: Annaluce, Lino’s little sister, starts to make miracles and becomes the patron saint of the district. For both of them, the unthinkable happens, a door opens to a new world that will lead them to take different paths, risking everything, even the most important thing they have: their fraternal friendship.
DIRECTOR’S NOTES:
This film has always had something miraculous. Its realization in full pandemic seemed unthinkable, just as it seems impossible for the characters of this story to believe that life can change, offering something unexpected. Nevertheless, since La santa piccola has been selected Biennale College Cinema, many small miracles have happened. With a team that put their heart into it to overcome difficulties, we hugged Lino to comfort him and gave Mario a new breath to really make him be born; we believed in little Annaluce, listened to the silence of Assia and tried to give hope to Perla. This film is a road that is finally followed after having searched and hoped for it for years. It is life, that with her slaps, pushes us to find our place in the world, opening unexpected ways.
