Chimera is a journey into the abyss of alienation. A love story finds its origin and its end in today's industrial society. The protagonist will try to escape from his condition, in a world without voices where he seems to live alone.
DIRECTOR'S NOTES:
"Loneliness is the lack of words around us." With this sentence and with his filmography, Michelangelo Antonioni was the main source of inspiration for CHIMERA’s story, my first work. It was born on an adernoon of July 2020, in an unmade bed, next to my current girlfriend. The feeling of loneliness following a rude awakening was the driving force, in my mind, of what would later become CHIMERA, or what I call a story about loneliness and abandonment. The completely independent realiza4on and produc4on of the project are part of the metaphorical meaning of the story. I couldn’t help but do the photography in black and white; it couldn't be played by someone who wasn't part of my daily life; I could not leave the responsibility to someone else and this why I took care of every single aspect, like supervising the soundtrack, made by my faithful friend Tommaso Procida, also the main character of the story. The female co-star is my current girlfriend, a choice dictated by my total identification in the story. She is the driving force of the story and the thoughts of the main character, the one who wanders in a world of loneliness.
