In the twelve years from 1888 to 1900, Grazia Deledda's artistic character was formed. The film narrates this formation starting from when, as a 17-year-old, she published her first story, Sangue Sardo, until her move to Rome, the desired destination of her youthful dreams. The film investigates the birth and development of the originality and creative greatness of Grazia Deledda, a little girl who spoke the severe Sardinian dialect with a limited school education who lived in an agro-pastoral and traditional social context but who over time managed to be recognized as great writer and finally win the Nobel Prize.
