In the post-war period, the little Nicola loses his father, who left Liguria to reach Buenos Aires in search of fortune. His grandfather, in order not to cause too much pain to the child, tells him that his father was kidnapped by the sea.
Nicola, however, does not accept this situation. He has never seen the sea, he only knows it through his grandfather’s daring tales, and he gets angry. Determined to find the sea and his father, the child escapes from the village and begins the journey that will lead him to become an adult.
