A film telling the story of judge Cesare Terranova and police marshal Lenin Mancuso who, while investigating the corleonesi mafia, discovered the original Sin of the Italian Republic, and for this they had to die. An epic struggle against evil, embodied by the boss Luciano Liggio, and the corrupt men of the Istitutions. If, the trial of Bari, instructed by judge Terranova after an uphill battle of ten years, had ended with the condemnation of the Corleonesi clan, how many innocent deaths, how many bloodsheds could’ve been avoided?
But things ended up differently and the judge Terranova and and police marshal Mancuso, were left alone, humiliated and mortified, to tilt at windmills…

Cesare Terranova was never just any judge. But an example who inspired Gaetano Costa, Rocco Chinnici, Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino. The first who was brave enough to investigate the Corleonesi bloody gang. The first who understood that mafia was a united organization, behaving together with politics, masonry and finance.
Even Lenin Mancuso, was not an ordinary police officer, but one of the best of Palermo. He was the example that inspired Ninni Cassarà, Beppe Montana, Lillo Zucchetto, Natale Mondo and Roberto Antiochia, who followed in his footsteps, and due to this they will be murdered by the mafia too.
