In Italy the longest river is the Po. Along its course towards the sea the river crosses a small provincial town: Piacenza. This city, between the beginning of the twentieth century and the seventies saw the birth of three of the most important tenors in the world.
Italo Cristalli (Castel San Giovanni 1879 - 1932), at the beginning a simple baker the voice of the people called "crystal", friend of Mascagni, who then took turns on the stages of New York with Enrico Caruso.
Gianni Poggi (Piacenza 1921 - 1989), the boy prodigy who sold cheese at the market in Piacenza and then sing with Callas and Tebaldi, between Scala and Metropolitan.
Flaviano Labò (Borgonovo Val Tidone 1927 - Melegnano 1991) The "Force of Destiny" of a railway worker who became a tenor from Verdi, a true excellence in the world.
