DIRECTOR'S NOTES:
Familia is a black melodrama which blends languages used in different film genres: from psychological thrillers to horror and social films. This contamination reveals a strong desire to try new things, to involve the viewer, to go deep into the story and to make it universal. Films, as experience material, allow us to get to know inaccessible microcosms, unravel emotions, open up the story to a more complex way of looking and thinking. Familia aims to do just that, to tell a story about violence, especially psychological and witnessed violence; to show the deep wounds that leave scars on one’s childhood, forever.
