Stefano is a director who is commissioned a film on a subject he considers difficult to stage: poetry. The protagonist of the film he was asked to direct is the poet Rosanna Bertoja. Over fifty years separate Stefano and Rosanna, yet the two share a particular passion, the passion for stones. Stefano has no idea how to make a film about Rosanna, but he feels he must start from that strange passion that unites them. The director, initially reluctant to make a film about Rosanna, realizes that he has found in her a guide. The result is a simple and delicate film that is constructed under the eyes of the viewer. A portrait of a poet you never see writing poetry: when you talk about poetry, you do talk about stones. Because as Rosanna believes, poetry exists without words.
