DIRECTOR'S NOTES:
“ You are sure that you love her ” tells an overwhelming reality, what many women are forced to live; the reality of the facts that unfortunately happen in certain family situations, when she for a sick love, comes to a tragic epilogue.
I tried to bring the facts in audiovisual with extreme frankness, even in a raw way; my intention was to make the viewer uncomfortable, highlighting the difficulty experienced by the affections closest to the victim. These situations are read in the newspapers or in the news of the news when the umpteenth woman is killed by the hands of the man who says he loves her. Once they learned the terrible news, few stop to reflect on what happened. It almost seems that you are getting used to even the most heinous crimes.
I went into this which is now a social scourge after learning from the news of the killing of 5 women in one weekend. Feminicides: it was July 2015 when I decided to devote my commitment to talking about this worryingly growing phenomenon.
So I decided to tell this story through a sequence of images and sounds that could shake people's soul. “ Are you sure you love her? ” it is my small and personal appeal for women to be left less alone and to try to react promptly even to the smallest of the alarm bells. Cinema never offers solutions, but it can give valid reflection tools. Cinema can be used as a magnifying glass to try to understand all aspects of a phenomenon and, if possible, prevent it from becoming tragedy.
