Massimo is a middle-aged man with a quadriplegic son who leads a short-sighted life dominated by family responsibilities. After fearfully complying with his son's desire to break into the race track during a running event, Massimo can no longer sleep, retracing those moments that had so edified his son. Confused, as before a revolution, he goes down from home, wandering through the streets of a deserted Rome dotted with only petty nocturnal fauna, until he arrives at Villa Borghese, where he lets himself go on a desperate run, until he is physically exhausted. After catching his breath, he looks out from the terrace of the Pincio, looking at Rome, no longer needing glasses, and with determined and hopeful eyes.
