In an elegant and decadent Rome, Federico, a well-known journalist and “alternative” screenwriter with a box office hit to his credit, moves through the aristocratic salons, newsrooms, restaurants and film world of the city. One day, a Roman financial broker asks him to meet Domenico, an actor trying to break into the movies. Federico invites him home. A few hours later the young man is killed, and Federico is drawn into in the investigation. His private life does not help: married to a French intellectual, he is having an affair with Claudia, a Pilates instructor tied to the victim, and has a complicated friendship with the princess Giulia. Called upon to untangle the dense web of secrets, betrayals and vendettas are the police inspector Margiotta, the reporter Maselli, and Federico himself, who will have to fight to prove his innocence.
