Actor Giorgio Albertazzi, with the help of his friend, the director Alessandro Giupponi, wanted to breathe new life into Italy’s first state theater, the Teatro delle Arti in via Sicilia, in Rome, inaugurated in 1937 and shut for decades.
In 2015, the actor stepped inside that abandoned theater, which, for far too long, hadn’t welcomed the voices and bodies of those for whom it had been a home.
