In 1941, after the deportation of Jews and Roma, the Chinese in Italy were interned in Abruzzo, at the foot of the Gran Sasso. Approximately 116 Chinese spent three years confined there, without truly understanding the reasons for their internment. Forgotten by all, they remained prisoners until 1943.
