The Accademia della Follia, the theater company made up of "madmen by profession and actors by vocation", was founded in the seventies in Trieste by Claudio Misculin, a multifaceted director, actor and mad-actor, as part of the Basaglia revolution and the cultural movement that arises from there. Embracing Basaglia's idea, Misculin became one of the first communicators of the revolution through his experimental theatre, which stages fragments of the stories of the ones who have experienced the closed asylums. In forty years, Claudio manages to build a unique and innovative reality, convinced that by valorising the madness of his actors it is possible to overcome and eliminate the condition of "sick", also and above all, in a society that avoids everything that seems to deviate from the so called normality.
