January 18, 2017. An elegant mountain hotel, surrounded by snow, becomes the scene of an unexpected tragedy: an avalanche strikes the Hotel Rigopiano in the heart of Abruzzo, trapping 40 people—guests and staff alike—beneath tons of snow.
