On November 11, 2023, the Galician radio station Pontevedra Viva Radio broke the news of the appearance of a strange poster in the main street of the town.
A photographer who came from far away put it up and was invited to the microphones to tell his story. The son of an important restorer at the ICR in Rome keeps a secret linked to a well-known painting; to find out, he decides to track down a mysterious woman, whose face, during a restoration in the 1960s, was used as a model to repaint that of a female character. This was a practice frequently used until the first half of the last century and interrupted with the foundation of the first and most important Italian restoration institute; up to this point nothing strange, except that the painting in question is none other than Caravaggio's last masterpiece, The Annunciation of Nancy.
But the French museum where the painting is kept seems to know nothing about this story. How come the photographer has this information? Is this something real or is it a figment of your imagination? From that moment the thought of this story and what that woman experienced and felt become an obsession for him and trying to know the truth is the only possible way. With the help of his mother, the institute's archivist and some scholars he begins a treasure hunt around Europe which will prove to be a journey within himself, and in an attempt to understand why the restorers of the time acted out this betrayal, to discover that the model in the painting is still alive.
