In a hidden corner, amid the crowded and unforgiving streets of one of Mexico City’s most violent neighborhoods, there is a place unlike any other. A refuge that seems to contradict everything around it.
In 2006, a group of sex workers saw their older companions end up on the streets and die there once they could no longer work. From this realization came the idea of a house where they could grow old with dignity.
Today, that home exists and it remains the only refuge in the world for elderly sex workers.
Its rooms, once a boxing museum, have for years sheltered women forgotten by society, rejected by their families, yet still capable of enduring together.
