Sauro Cantafame (Luigi Lo Cascio) is a solitary man with a dramatic past. His job is unusual: he “fixes” the dead on commission, to the point of fitting mechanical hearts into their bodies. With his Apecar he crosses a violent, lunar, frontier South, between reality and the improbable. It will be the meeting with Giocondo, a boy walled in himself but with a mysterious gift, that will bring him back to life and feelings, so much so that he faces the risk of challenging the criminal deity of Vito the Monkey who, in that territory at the end of the world, commands and orders everything.
