Io sono Tony Scott was made over a period of three years. It tells the story of Sicilian-American musician Anthony Joseph Sciacca, who from the late 1940s was known as Tony Scott, the greatest clarinetist of modern jazz.
A look back over Tony’s musical and personal history is an account of 60 years of jazz, incredible artistic and human encounters and, at the same time, of U.S. history in the second half of the 20th century, with its battles for civil and human rights, of which Tony Scott was a leading and impassioned advocate. At the height of success he left America and went East where he invented the World-music. His decline started when he arrived in Italy in the ‘60s.
He died in 2007 in a country which never recognized him as the great artist he was.
