Rome, Tuscolano district. The sirens of the Carabinieri echo in the distance. In an apartment, three young men—Paolo, a 25-year-old aspiring director from Naples; Davide, a pragmatic 30-year-old from Treviso; and Aran, a 21-year-old eccentric from Turkey—find themselves surrounded by jars of marijuana. The tension is palpable. The scene cuts to a flashback: one year earlier...
Naples. Paolo is packing his bags, ready to move to Rome to pursue his dream of becoming a filmmaker. However, upon arriving in the capital, he faces his first disappointment: he has not been accepted into the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. He shares his disappointment with his roommates, Aran and Davide. During the conversation, while smoking a joint with Aran, the latter invites him to visit his trusted dealer, “Mister Green,” that evening. Paolo agrees.
Mister Green, a disheveled-looking 50-year-old man, announces to the boys that he’s leaving for Brazil, abandoning his “business” for love. In a panic, Paolo and Aran find themselves alone and end up rummaging through his apartment, where they accidentally discover a box containing marijuana seeds and a notebook with detailed instructions on how to grow them.
Thus begins a surreal adventure: the three roommates decide to grow marijuana at home, overcoming all sorts of obstacles—from the unexpected arrival of Davide’s sister, to needing help from one of Aran’s ex- girlfriends to save the plants, and even the kidnapping of one of them. With a spirit of chaos and camaraderie, the boys face every challenge, strengthening their bond.
But just when it seems like everything is under control, the sound of police sirens grows louder. Someone rings the doorbell. Paolo, resigned to the worst, opens the door—but instead of the police, he finds an old friend, bringing a final plot twist.

DIRECTOR’S NOTES:
Mister Green is a film that plays with multiple multimedia languages, creatively blending animation with traditional cinematography. In addition to the live-action elements, the film features a mix of animation styles, ranging from 3D and 2D hybrid techniques to traditional animation, creating a unique fusion between cartoon and reality.
The storytelling is fresh, over-the-top, and crafted to deliver lightheartedness and fun to the audience, while never losing touch with the emotions and inner conflicts of the protagonists. The editing is dynamic and tight, yet it allows enough space for visual storytelling and suspense-building. The goal is to maintain a fast-paced rhythm without overwhelming the viewer, alternating tense moments with pauses that allow reflection and appreciation of the visual scenery and characters’ emotions.
