On the island of Ustica, where Antonio Gramsci spent his years in exile, there is a high school with twenty-five students, and a fourth-grade class with only one student, Bartolomeo. One day, a girl named Rebecca, from Palermo, arrives in the class, forced to live on the island where her mother has been transferred for work.
