festivals & awards:
Spoon River Anthology was published in 1915; in this poetry collection, the author Edgar Lee Masters recounts the life of the inhabitants of an imaginary town in the Midwest, in the form of epitaphs. This famous book was translated into Italian in the ‘40s by Fernanda Pivano. One hundred years later, the inhabitants of Lewinston and Petersburg, Illinois, reread the book, in their familiar environment, as the images recount provincial America once more.
